Integral Psychology Center, Inc. Response to COVID-19

The independent therapists at the Integral Psychology Center, Inc. want to do our part to stop the spread of COVID-19, keep everyone healthy, and at the same time, meet the mental health needs of our clients. We are making every effort to limit the possibility of infection by sanitizing common surfaces and removing some items from our waiting rooms.

Until the risk of the pandemic has decreased, your therapist may:

  • Provide treatment via telehealth (a HIPAA-compliant video session through your computer, tablet or phone).
  • Continue to see some clients in person.

Please do the following to increase health and safety for yourself and everyone in our office:

  • Cancel your in-person appointment if you have any symptoms of illness or have been exposed to someone who is ill.
  • Cancel your in-person appointment if your age or health conditions mean that you have a higher risk of complications from COVID-19.
  • If possible, leave your children with a responsible caregiver, rather than bringing them to our office, unless the appointment is for your child.
  • Try to stay at least six feet away from other clients, office staff and your provider.
  • Wash your hands frequently.

Please contact your therapist as soon as possible if you need to cancel an appointment. Many of our therapists are waving their cancellation fee. Although many insurance companies have stated they will pay for telehealth sessions during this time, there is variability in their response to the pandemic. We are working diligently to have the most current information. Your therapist may ask you to contact your insurance company or your employer to get information about coverage for telehealth appointments.

Please feel free to call our office at 608-255-9330 and leave a voicemail for your therapist with any questions or concerns that you may have. Click here for a link to our therapist directory.

If conditions warrant having to end all in-person appointments for a period of time, we will contact affected clients as soon as possible.

Please know that we are committed to supporting our clients and each other as we all face the challenges brought on by this pandemic. Together we can reduce the impact of COVID-19 and help our community to heal.

The act of social distancing is an act of generosity to each other by limiting our in-person interactions to decrease the spread of COVID-19. Our primary motivation is to benefit others. The paradox of social distancing, however, has revealed how much we need human connection and how much we need each other.

Here's a few recommendations that are helping each of us:

Connect daily with those you care about virtually, either by phone, Facetime, or Skype. Go beyond social media and hear each other's voices and see each other's faces on the screen. Your nervous system will thank you.

Pause often. Just stop whatever you're doing and take three breaths. Look out the window and notice that spring is still coming. Sit with your pet on the couch for awhile. Take a break from the news and email for a few hours.

Practice this self-compassion break many times during the day, especially when you feel overwhelmed.

Washing our hands can become a practice that connects us with others. Here's a loving kindness hand washing practice video from the daughter of one of our colleagues.

You're not alone. We're all in this together. Breathe and stay connected to each other.
